'Tis the season

With all the chaos involving the remodel, the joy of the holidays has kind of been lost on me. Which is sad, because this is my favorite holiday. So now tomorrow (Saturday), I am off to do a good chunk of my Christmas shopping. I really loathe going to the mall, especially on the weekend during the holiday shopping season, but unfortunately I don't have a real choice.

So if you have a moment tomorrow, think of me with kindness, & hope that I don't end up killing anyone.

One of those days...

Yeah. Today sucks.

- Worked 10 hrs, no lunch break.
- Dealt with *1* problem for about 8 of those hours, trying to get higher-ups to calm the fuck down, quit blaming me for not doing my job (which was completely NOT true), & point out what a complete fucking idiot the person setting up contracts is.
- Try to keep everything on track with the house stuff, reconcile the bank account to dodge a major problem & arrange to go get my puppy from "grandma's", all while dealing with said stupidity today.
- Successfully make it home, oh, around 8:30pm (about 12.5 hrs after I'd left this morning), only to get bitched at by my lovely spouse for not remembering to set out some stupid fucking light switches for the electrician. (Same spouse who was gone for 4 fucking days on a business trip.)

sigh Fuck it. I'm going to bed.

A Return to Normal?!?

Well kiddies, we have our basement back. The ServiceMaster folks came out yesterday & cleaned the basement. I have to admit, I was very skeptical that it was going to work. But wow... it's seriously cleaner in our basement rec room that it was when we moved in. Color me impressed! They did miss a couple things, & I have to take a couple items to either the cleaners or the laundromat to clean, but all things considered, it could have ended much worse.

Oh... a teaser update for those that care: the hardwood floors are done, they start staining & sealing tomorrow. The paint is almost done, & the floor in the new basement got poured today. T- 2 weeks until D-Day (12/21/2007) - the day we can reclaim our house!
